
A Model For The Small Halka
- Contains: approximately 2-6 people
- Organisation: 1 Amir, the rest are members with one designated secretary for when needed.
- Curriculum : distributed
- Frequency: once a week
- Format:
A = amir
B = secretary
C,D,E = members
EXAMPLE
Aug.9.1994
- Begin at 10:00 am (exactly), preferably at someones house
- 9:55 am arrival of all individuals
- 10:00 am A begins with bismillah, hamd, and sends peace on the prophet
- 10:01 am C ( responsible for Quran section )
Each group member recites 3-5 verses in turn, correcting each
other ( may begin with surah number one and progress further
each halaka from where you left off )
- 10:10 am C in groups of 2 or 3 individuals recite the portion thay
memorized to each other (3-5 verses)
- 10:20 am C give lessons on an additonal rule of tajweed followed by tafseer
- 10:40 am D presents a book from the curriculum eg, "Muslim Character"
followed by discussion and question/answer ( go through the book
as a text, but not by simply reading it ie present the ideas).
Continue to do this each halaka until the book is complete.
- 10:50 am E responsible for hadith section
should have made physical arrangements for viewing Tariq Swedan
seerah tape number 1 and lead a discussion on lessons learned. ( any
unanswered questions should be researched and presented next
halaka ).
- 11:20 am B presents Fique text
- 11:50 am Chat about life and snacks
- 12:00 Officialy close for those who would like to leave..others can chat
- NOTE : A has not yet presented, next halaka, for example, there will be no
video and A will organize a general discussion surrounding the question, "
- Problems faced by the Islamic Movement in North America".

Training Goals
- Build excellent amirs withe the requisite skills to conduct a small halka. ie. building of the Naqeeb.
- Understanding the Philosophy of the PeaceNet organizational structure and how it could be used to launch future work.
- Intence training on planning
- Long term planning
- Project planning
- Intence Emphasis and training on discipline, organization.
- Set goals and strategic plan for comming year.
- Camp to be conducted in the context of small halakas.
