PEACENET COVER LETTER

• The basic overall concept of the PeaceNet is a weekly halaka, a retreat every two months and a specialized camp every year.

• The PeaceNet itself is only a training forum and trainees are to be affiliated to existing groups or used by local communities.

• For example, the MSA of a given university would have a PeaceNet branch. PeaceNet continental would simply monitor, and direct the halakas as well as serve as a support base. Also, if assignments are given to the small halaka members by the local MSA's etc, then the PeaceNet Amirs could be employed to monitor and follow up for members of there group. That is to say, the PeaceNet is not another group different from anything which already exists...it is only a means of training.

• We want the above to be very clear. This project is being done in conjunction with MSA national, ISNA, MYNA, and MAS etc.

• Since the halakas are officially connected to PeaceNet, we would need each Amir to fill out the registration agreement. Unfortunately, there is no other way to know if someone is committed or not...documents can be returned by snail mail to :

• The plan is to institutionalize this as a part of MYNA and hence at the end of one year, for purposes of evaluation, we will only use the halakas that are officially a part of Peace Net. From this we will be able to refine the model as well as the various components of Peace Net.

• If it is more beneficial for a group to be independent, then the PeaceNet materials could, by all means, be used and modified as need be.

• The PeaceNet resources could be called upon whenever needed without any official connection...the main point is to push tarbiyyah training.
