Dear Friends:
The Islamic Center of Blacksburg, ICB, is a non-profit organization based in Blacksburg, Virginia. The organization's objectives are to provide religious, educational, social, and cultural services to the Muslims in the area. Equally important, ICB is to provide means for people in our area to develop a better understanding and appreciation to the Islamic faith, its system, values and ethics, as well as its practices. The following is a translation of the meaning of God's words in the Holy Qur'an, Chapter 49, Verse 13:
In the Name of Allah (God), Most Gracious, Most Merciful
"O mankind! We created You from a single pair Of a male and a female, And made you into Nations and tribes, that Ye may know each other (Not that ye may despise Each other). Verily The most honored of you In the sight of God Is (he who is) the most Righteous of you. And God has full knowledge And is well acquainted (With all things)."
In the light of this Quranic guidance, we are committed to know the others as well as be known to others.
